Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

MocroDarija ("we", "us", "our") is an online platform for learning Moroccan Arabic (Darija), operated by TEAMBLADI e.U., Slamastrasse 23, 1230 Vienna, Austria (FN496717t, Handelsgericht Wien). Full legal details are on our Impressum page. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms.

2. The Service

MocroDarija provides Moroccan Darija language-learning content, including structured daily lessons, vocabulary review, an AI conversation partner ("Sahbi"), typing and speaking practice, and a free-text translator. A free tier is available (Days 1-3 permanently free, no card required); full access requires a paid subscription ("Pro").

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. One account per person; sharing login credentials to circumvent subscription limits is not permitted.

4. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe or PayPal, in advance, and renew automatically until cancelled.

Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep full Pro access until the end of the billing period you already paid for, after which your account reverts to the free tier.

Refunds: Subscription payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. Because you can cancel at any time and retain access through the period already paid for, we do not offer prorated or retroactive refunds. If you believe you were charged in error (e.g. a duplicate charge or a billing system fault), contact us at contact@mocrodarija.com and we will investigate in good faith.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices for future billing periods; we will notify you in advance and any change applies only to your next renewal, not a period already paid for.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: - Use the Service for any unlawful purpose - Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or subscription gating (including via automated scripts/bots) - Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service's content without written permission - Upload or transmit content via Sahbi chat or the translator that is illegal, abusive, or infringes on others' rights - Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Sahbi (AI conversation partner) and the free-text translator use the Anthropic Claude API to generate Darija translations and conversational replies. AI-generated output may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not perfectly idiomatic. This content is provided for educational purposes and should not be relied upon for legal, medical, or other professional translation needs.

7. Intellectual Property

The MocroDarija name, logo, curriculum, vocabulary database, and app design are owned by TEAMBLADI e.U. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial language learning. You retain ownership of any text you submit (e.g. chat messages), but grant us a licence to process it in order to provide the Service (see our Privacy Policy).

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any specific learning outcome or level of fluency. To the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law, TEAMBLADI e.U. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Austrian or EU consumer protection law.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings, which removes your personal data per our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 5 (Acceptable Use), with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Austrian law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence. Disputes will first be addressed via the contact details below; see also our Impressum for the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform link.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at https://mocrodarija.com/terms.
